A business delegation led by the Beijing Representative Office of the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) visited Xiong’an New Area on 19 August, following an invitation coordinated through the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Hebei Council.

The programme combined first-hand exposure to Xiong’an’s urban development with discussions on bilateral investment, trade and industrial cooperation. Delegates met local representatives and explored how international companies might engage with the city’s growing business and innovation ecosystem.

Seeing Xiong’an’s operating environment

The delegation’s itinerary was designed to move from city-level planning to the practical realities of doing business. It included service infrastructure, headquarters development, green urban design and a working innovation park.

From observation to business dialogue

Later that day, the delegation joined a China–Korea economic and trade cooperation meeting at Xiong’an Zhongguancun Science Park. Representatives introduced Hebei’s economic development, Xiong’an’s progress and relevant investment-support policies.

Discussion covered two-way investment, trade links and opportunities for industrial cooperation. The format also allowed company representatives to raise questions and identify areas where their capabilities may align with Xiong’an’s development priorities.

Why this matters for international investors

The visit demonstrates a practical route for overseas organisations assessing Xiong’an: begin with an informed site programme, meet the institutions and operators relevant to the project, and use a focused dialogue to test where cooperation is realistic.

According to the official report, participating business representatives responded positively to Xiong’an’s development potential, policy support and investment environment. Local authorities indicated that international company visits and matching activities would continue, with an emphasis on attracting high-quality foreign-invested projects and corporate functions.
